LG&E Customer Responsibilities
If you live in Louisville, Jefferson County, you probably have LG&E for your electrical services. Just as a quick refresher, remember these rules on what your responsibilities as a customer are versus what responsibilities lie with LG&E.
A good rule of thumb to remember is that after service activation, the customer is responsible for anything that has to do with the electrical service. Once the service drop is attached to your home, the rest is customer responsibility. If there is damage, the customer is responsible for hiring a licensed electrician to make any repairs. If a storm does occur and wind or a tree damages or drops the overhead service drop or the electrical service riser, do not hesitate to call LG&E immediately. It’s very important to get the power shut off in these circumstances. If the lines are down, you and any pets should avoid the area.
If you observe any damage to power lines, contact LG&E through the website or by phone: 502-589-3500 or toll-free 1-800-331-7370.
Do not hesitate to call Allen Electric for any of your emergency electrical needs.
